Take note, shoppers. There's no gesture more romantic or unexpected than furniture, especially when they're contemporary, eco-friendly pieces that are design-forward and seriously cool. And, SMC Furnishings has several pieces sure to inspire even those without a serious showroom addiction to start waxing poetic about clean lines and African wenge wood. SMC's collection of interesting tables, seating and storage units are the result of three graduates of the Art Institute of Chicago, who create most pieces from reclaimed building timbers or trees that have fallen due to storms, disease or nuisance complaints. Even SMC's production processes strive to keep waste to a minimum, so they can continue spreading the eco-love.
