A dollar store in Maryland may want to think about stocking some real Christmas trees next year.

Employees managing the usual rush of shoppers after the Thanksgiving holiday were shocked to discover a beaver roaming the aisles and perusing the merchandise. As the images show, the inquisitive creature was especially perplexed by the artificial trees on sale.

Whether from the stress of the situation or the lack of necessary stocking stuffers, the beaver soon became irate and started trashing the aisles.

"Corporal Yingling had an interesting call on Monday when the suspect caused property damage to a dollar store in Charlotte Hall," The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office quipped on Facebook. "The suspect attempted to flee the area but was apprehended by Animal Control."

The beaver was later handed over to a wildlife rehabilitation facility. We expect he or she will likely stick to online shopping going forward.
