This year's 'Oscar Swag Bags,' handed out to nominees who do not walk away with the coveted golden statue, contain a crazy $80,000 in consolation gifts. Thanks to comedian and animal advocate Ellen DeGeneres, one of the more expensive items in the list is less about pampering and more about helping the nation's animal shelters.

DeGeneres’ pet food company, Halo, Purely for Pets, in partnership with, is adding a 10,000-meal donation card in each of the 20 non-winning bags set to be given away. Celebrities will then have the opportunity to designate a shelter to receive the meals - valued at $6,100.

“We know many celebrities are extremely generous,” said David Yaskulka, Halo’s vice president of marketing communications. “So we decided to gift them with something different that we think will mean a lot to them. We’re looking forward to making those donations!”

The 200,000 total meals this partnership will donate is simply a small part of the additional 1.5 million that Halo and donate to shelter pets every year

DeGeneres, who has admitted that her first career choice was to become a veterinarian, remains committed about helping the nation's homeless pets.

“Pet adoption is something I'm extremely passionate about," she says. "I believe that by working together, we can find good homes for the millions of homeless and abandoned pets out there."
