A jockey spurs a pair of cows while competing in Pacu Jawi on Oct. 12 in Batusangkar, Indonesia. Pacu Jawi is an annual cow race that celebrates the end of the harvest season by the Minangkabau people.

To showcase the strength of their livestock, jockeys lead them through muddy rice fields while grabbing hold of their tails and balancing barefoot on the wooden stays of their harnesses. The bulls are later sold at auction.
