An Oregon police department recently received an unexpected guest when someone dropped off a black bear cub.

A family heard the cub's distress calls and brought him to the station, but Police Chief Don Brown said picking up the bear was "very, very dangerous."

“Had mama bear been around the corner and seen him yelling, she would have attacked him without hesitation,” he said.

Officers were unable to find the cub's mother, so they took him for a veterinary checkup, and the cub will soon be released at a wildlife sanctuary.
