The Big Apple cools down
A bolt of lightning strikes a building on June 22 near the American Museum of Natural History in Manhattan's Upper West Side in this photo captured from an apartment terrace near 67th Street and Amsterdam Avenue.


After a week of scorching temperatures and high humidity, a line of thunderstorms brought temporary relief from the oppressively hot weather rolling across the mid-Atlantic coast.
