There is no such thing as "clean coal".

That didn't stop Sen. Robert Byrd (D-W.V.) from wasting $4.4 billion by steering it to so called "clean coal" technology in the Senate version of the economic stimulus bill.

One of my favorite blogs, It's Getting Hot In Here, is making a call to action to flood Byrd's office and email box with feedback.
