Every year for the past 23 years, people have gathered on Larry Gibson's family farm land to celebrate efforts to end mountaintop removal mining. It's a peaceful affair filled with good people, food and music put on by the Keepers of the Mountains, a group of MTR activists.

This year the event was invaded by over 20 large drunken coal miners and their wimin' who swore at and threatened to kill activists and their children. They generally acted like total asshats and created a tense, downright scary atmosphere.

The whole thing was caught on tape. Check this out (be warned, lots of swearing):

That's appalling.
