Spill on the Hill

As crude oil gushed into U.S. waters 1,200 miles away, Big Oil executives were in Washington, D.C., this week to answer questions from angry lawmakers about the Gulf oil spill. BP America President Lamar McKay (pictured, far right) took much of the heat on the first day of hearings — including accusations that BP cut corners to save money, exaggerated its disaster readiness and low-balled estimates of the spill's size — but his fellow tycoons faced their share of scrutiny, too.
