The climate bill that passed in the House in June and is currently making its way through the Senate isn’t exactly popular with most members of the GOP, but 8 rogue representatives boldly went against the party line and voted for the legislation. Now, they’re facing an angry backlash from their fellow Republicans including right-wing pundits like Rush Limbaugh, Michelle Malkin and Glenn Beck.

An entire campaign called ‘Cap and Tr8tor’ sought to get those Republicans to change their votes within 5 days of the decision, with members threatening to “vote them out of office” if the lawmakers didn’t comply. When that didn’t work, conservative blogger Michelle Malkin created a ‘wanted’ poster calling out the ‘Cap and Trade 8’, asking readers to call each representative and complain.

The bill passed by a razor-thin margin of 219-212, so it’s clear just how valuable those eight votes really were. Planet Green is urging readers to show support for these beleaguered Republican lawmakers by contacting them via email or letter and telling them just how much you appreciate their decision.
