In honor of the Oscars, the Goddard Space Flight Center has released a curated Flickr set of NASA images inspired by Alfonso Cuarón's 2013 space drama, "Gravity."
Titled "Gravity" — NASA's Real Life Photos from Space, the stunning photo set allows viewers to see just how similar the reality of space is to one of the most critically acclaimed films of 2013.
The movie, which stars Sandra Bullock and George Clooney, chronicles the harrowing journey of two astronauts attempting to return to Earth after the violent, mid-orbit destruction of their space shuttle and the International Space Station.
After earning more than $700 million at the box office, "Gravity" went on to nab seven Oscars this year's Academy Awards, including Best Directing and Best Original Score.
