Moonset over Earth

This photo, taken from space shuttle Discovery, shows the moon setting from the Earth's limb. Sources report that the moon is the fifth-largest satellite in the solar system and the largest for its home planet. Because the moon is in a synchronized rotation with the Earth, we only see one side of its surface. It is up to space pictures like this to give us a more complete look at the moon.
