Morning sun

Taken from the Apollo 7 spacecraft in 1968, this photo shows the morning sun reflecting on the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean. Experts say the sun's luminosity will increase over 5 or 6 billion years until it morphs into a red giant, bringing an end to the Earth itself. Experts estimate that the Earth will be vaporized by the expanding sun. But until then, we can continue to enjoy the view from Earth and beyond.
