Ceres: Queen of the asteroid belt

Ceres is a dwarf planet located in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. It has a diameter of 587 miles, making it the largest object in the asteroid belt and the 33rd largest known body in the solar system (after the planets and many of the moons of those planets). It also has the distinction of being the first dwarf planet to be explored by a probe; NASA’s Dawn reached it in March 2015.

The clever poster implies that Ceres could one day be a kind of rest area: “Gateway to the outer solar system. Last chance for water until Jupiter,” it reads.
