HD 40307g: 'Super-Earth' or 'mini-Neptune'?

HD 40307g is an exoplanet discovered in 2012. Located 42 light-years from Earth, its volume is twice as big as Earth and astronomers aren’t sure if the surface is rocky or not, making it either a super-Earth or a mini-Neptune.

One thing’s for sure: With a mass eight times larger than Earth’s, its super-strong gravity would make skydiving quite the experience!
