Last week I sat down and recorded a podcast with my friend Nick Callanan, the brains and driving force behind No Umbrella Media, a Portland, Maine-based media company that focuses on telling stories about real people having fun in the Great Outdoors. No Umbrella is well known around the Maine outdoor sports scene for its large annual print edition as well as frequent podcasts, blog posts, photographs, and videos online.

Nick is a fellow car-free bike rider and one of the hardest working creatives I've met. No Umbrella gets more value out of a buck than almost any company I've ever seen and produces nothing but quality content.

Check out their bike-themed entry in the Portland, Maine 48 Hour Film Project:

You can follow No Umbrella on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and via RSS.

No Umbrella also does contract video and online creative work, if you're in need of such services and looking for a good company in Portland, Maine to work with, get in touch with

Shea Gunther is a podcaster, writer, and entrepreneur living in Portland, Maine. He hosts the popular podcast "Marijuana Today Daily" and was a founder of Renewable Choice Energy, the country's leading provider of wind credits and Green Options. He plays a lot of ultimate frisbee and loves bad jokes.
