Get your spoons out!

I traveled to Burlington, Vt., last month to learn about Ben & Jerry's transition to sourcing 100 percent of all possible ingredients from fair trade sources. You can read about my visit here.

Ben & Jerry's was kind enough to give me 52 coupons for free pints to give away to readers. I asked all who wanted a shot at the ice cream to take a picture of themselves holding up a fair trade product and post it to my fan page on Facebook along with a little bit about why fair trade is the way to go. At the end of the deadline, there were seven people in the running. I assigned each of them a number and clicked over to where I generated the number.

Drum roll, please …

Congratulations to Amy Thompson!

Amy wrote the following about fair trade:

Fair Trade is an way to vote for equality and social and economic justice with your hard earned money. More and more things are being produced in a Fair Trade fashion. I encourage you to support your fellow citizens of the world by purchasing Fair Trade when it is possible to do so.
Amy, please e-mail me at, and I'll put you in touch with the folks at Ben & Jerry's so they can ship your coupons and assorted ice cream swag.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to show their love for fair trade.
