One of the best ways to cut down on the amount of plastic that you use day-to-day is to carry around your own refillable bottle. I've rocked both Sigg and Nalgenes over the years but have settled into using a random assortment of Nalgenes that I got for free at a PR event last year. They work — they hold enough water, have easy-to-open lids, are simple to clean, and look cool to boot.

Nalgene recently sent me some of their new bottles to give away to my readers, so this is your chance to win a sweet new Nalgene for yourself and three for your pals. Here is how I'm giving these suckers away:

I will use a 20-sided die (left over from my geekier D&D days ... mine isn't actually gold) and roll it once after 20 unique individuals have left a comment on this post answering my question found below. The first person leaving their answer will be assigned #1, the 20th person will get #20, and whoever's number comes up on the dice roll wins. Couldn't be simpler.

It could take an hour to fill those 20 spots, it could take a few days, but when we hit #20, I'll roll the die, pick a winner, and mail off the Nalgenes. (UPDATE: We have a winner, scroll down)

So, here's the question, answer this in comments for a chance to win the Nalgenes: How has the ongoing oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico affected the way you think about oil?

Nice and open-ended, just leave a comment to enter. Keep it short and sweet; I'll select and highlight the best ones for a later post.

Please leave your first name and last initial in your comment, I'll have the winner contact me with an address where I can mail the four Nalgenes to.

Here's how I'd comment, if I were able to do so:

"The oil spill in the Gulf has firmed up my opposition to deep water offshore drilling and made me think a lot about the true costs of fossil fuels. We can't keep externalizing the costs of oil, natural gas, and coal. - Shea G."
Good luck!

Full DisclosureNalgene sent me six bottles, I'm keeping two and giving four away to readers. Like I said in my post, they also gave me a bunch of bottles for free (through a PR agency) at an event last year.
