Not all women are able to use modern contraceptives, even if desired. The UNFPA reports that "225 million women in developing countries want to avoid pregnancy but are not using modern contraceptives." The group goes on to say that if all women had access to modern contraceptives, unintentional pregnancies would plummet by 77 percent.
