Do these sound familiar? Day of the Girl, Half the Sky Movement, and the U.N. Girls Education Initiative? If so, it's because putting a stop to the oppression of women and girls is one of the greatest challenges of this century. The possibility of an education changes lives, like those of these schoolgirls in Yemen. In fact, girls are more likely to wait longer before marrying and have fewer children, should they receive an education. Their children, in turn, will be more likely to receive the care and education they need.
