Of the world's refugees, about half of them are children, like this Syrian toddler in a makeshift tent. They are more likely to suffer violence, abuse, hunger and exploitation than any other group. This is a tragic crisis not only for children, but the international community at large. It's a daunting problem, but safeguarding childhood helps safeguard the future.
