Ants and wasps

Even insects use tools, especially social insects such as ants and wasps. One famous example is the leafcutter ant, which has created an advanced agricultural system, cutting leaves and using them to fertilize and grow its favorite food -- a fungus. Similarly, myrmicine ants use leaves as containers for carrying food and water. Mud wasps flatten mud by battering it with small stones.
