Escape from the city

The Marin Headlands are located just north of San Francisco, California. Drive from the city over the bridge and suddenly you escape from the urban jungle into the scenic coastal landscape of the headlands with miles of hiking trails, beaches and incredible views. The Marin Headlands are part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area and boast not only beautiful open spaces and wildlife, but a fascinating history including Native American culture, the rule of the Spanish Empire and Mexican Republic, the Gold Rush and American military history.
