The main reason people visit the Baylands Nature Preserve is the birds. Not only are there many resident species, but the area is an important migratory stopover on the Pacific Flyway, providing resting, feeding and breeding grounds for a great diversity of traveling birds. You never quite know what you might spot during an afternoon trip to this open space.
