Net Zero Building

Net Zero Building

Net zero buildings (NZBs) are buildings that use no more energy in one year than they produce from renewable resources. In other words, their energy consumption and carbon emissions are 'net zero'.

From green or 'sustainable design' to reduce energy consumption and conserve resources to developing on-site renewables that meet all of a building's heating, cooling and electricity needs, net zero buildings have paved the way for more highly efficient housing. (Photo: Shutterstock)
