Toxins and chemicals are a huge concern in the green movement due to their detriment to the environment. Humans and animals are often exposed to these harmful substances via non-organic food (on which pesticides are used), cosmetics, plastics, aluminum and many other sources. Toxins and chemicals are thought to cause health problems, pollution and other issues.

Some of the most common household toxins include: Bisphenol A (BPA), parabens, phthalates, asbestos, lead, and perchlorate. And some of the most prevalent environmental toxins include Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), pesticides,  volatile organic compounds (VOCs), benzene, dioxins and heavy metals.
