Want to show your child's teacher some love? May 7 is Teacher Appreciation Day so it's a great time to show your favorite teacher how grateful you are for all that she does. And you don't have to break the bank to do it. In fact, almost every teacher I've ever talked to told me the same thing about their wishes for Teacher Appreciation Day: a heartfelt gesture that let them know their work is appreciated.

That, and of course, more school supplies.

So ask your child to write a note or draw a picture for his teacher, and go ahead and write one yourself. If you want to include something sweet to go along with the cards, here are a few simple ideas that are sure to put a smile on any teacher's face.

Mounds Bar: "Thank you for making school MOUNDS of fun!"
Starburst: "You’re the STAR of the school!"
Swedish Fish: "You’re o-FISH-illy the best!"
Homemade cookies: "Thanks for making your students such smart COOKIES."
Gift certificate to the local coffee shop: "Thanks a LATTE for all you do."
Orange: "ORANGE you glad the weekend is almost here?!?"
Box of pencils: "You've got the write stuff."
