Columbus Day is Oct. 12. A national holiday marked by days off from work and school and holiday sales and department stores. But was the man himself, Christopher Columbus, really worthy of all the hubbub?

A new website, Reconsider Columbus Day, challenges us to do just that, and to spend Oct. 12 learning the whole story about how this country was "founded." It's certainly worth a look.
