It would make sense that in the former “Pineapple Capital of the World,” a whole lot of hospitality is extended to both man and his best friend. On beautiful Hutchison Island, Walton Rocks Beach is home to one of Florida’s most well-frequented dog beaches: a pristine 24 acre expanse of sand on the Treasure Coast where pooches are welcome to romp in the surf from sunrise to sundown sans leash.

Picnic pavilions, restrooms (cleanup bags for dogs are also provided), a wash-off area and ample parking are additional perks. And on the subject of parking: After an afternoon spent socializing, cooling off and posing for photo-ops, most dogs really don’t want to go back to the car — some are led back to the parking lot kicking and howling.
