It was cuteness overload when more than 600 corgis took to Huntington Beach in Southern California for a huge doggie beach party on April 9. Rain didn't keep these low-riding poorches from attending So Cal Corgi Beach Day where they frolicked in the surf, chased bacon-flavored bubbles, and participated in all sorts of corgi contests.

Costume contests were a big hit. There was this laid-back little surfer dude:

There was also a limbo contest and a talent show. But some dogs didn't care about the competition; they just wanted to play in the ocean:

Other corgis were just there to socialize and make new friends.

Some of the proceeds from the event went to a Queen's Best Stumpy Dog Rescue, a local corgi rescue group. The pups (and owners) have plenty of time to rest up and prepare to do it all over again. Summer So Cal Corgi Beach Day is July 2 at Rosie's Dog Beach in Long Beach, California.
