An abandoned dog living in a Los Angeles trash pile was recently rescued by animal group Hope For Paws.

Eldad Hagar, one of the nonprofit’s founders, filmed Miley’s rescue, as well as her veterinary treatment.

Miley was suffering from malnutrition, mange and bacterial infections, but today she’s happy and healthy. She even took another rescue pup (one found in the sewers) under her wing and they seem to be getting along like best friends. Watch the video above to see their friendship in action.
