Olympic silver medalist Gus Kenworthy was reunited this week with the stray dogs he helped bring back from Sochi.

Kenworthy’s friend, photographer Robin Macdonald, stayed in Sochi to complete the adoption process, which took weeks.

“They were kept away from me for the duration I was there,” Macdonald told the “Today” show. “It took too long, and two of the dogs unfortunately did pass away.”

The other three dogs — Mama and two of her puppies, Jake and Mishka — made the trip to the U.S. and will live with Kenworthy at his Colorado home.
