At the Go Green Expo in Philadelphia this past weekend, I had the opportunity to visit several venders who were promoting their organic or natural food and drinks. One of the exhibitors was Rain Organics Vodka, and I got to try each of their flavored vodkas mixed with a little lemon/lime soda and their original vodka straight up. All of the vodkas are USDA Organic certified.

RAIN Vodka is the only vodka made exclusively from organically-grown American grain.

A super-premium vodka. RAIN is made from corn grown on Fizzle Flat Farms in Yale, Illinois. America's of the few farms growing organic grain in the United States on a commercial scale. To achieve its exceptional smoothness, RAIN undergoes a rigorous production process, including quadruple distillation. Filtration is done with both activated charcoal and diamond dust -- the costliest form of filtration in the spirits business.

Of their four flavored vodkas, red grape hibiscus, lavender lemonade, honey mango melon and cucumber lime, the cucumber lime was my favorite. This would be a great choice to put in a cosmopolitan or this Cucumber Rain Refresher recipe from their website sounds good:
• 2 oz Rain Organics Cucumber Lime Vodka
• 4 oz Sweet/Sour Mix
• 1 oz Ginger Ale (Fever-Tree)
• Serve with ice in tall glass

• Garnish with cucumber

The price on Rain’s website for a 750ml bottle is $24.95, but I found several other places online that sell for under $20. That’s not a bad price for an organic vodka.
