If you’re a mom, a mom-to-be, have a mom, or know a mom you think is fabulous, your weekend is probably going to center around Mother’s Day activities. And, if you’re like me, kid’s baseball or softball. My men will be taking me to a local winery; they know what makes me happy.

Here are a few things that might interest you this weekend. They’re not related to Mother’s Day. They just struck me as worth passing along.
  • Jamie Oliver might have been successful in getting the Los Angeles school system to ban flavored milk in its schools, but the new season of “Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution” doesn’t seem to be as successful. The Los Angeles Times reports that the remaining shows are being pulled during May sweeps and will return at the end of the month.
  • Between the royal wedding and Prince Charles speaking on The Future of Food, I’ve been writing a lot more about British royalty than I usually do lately. Here’s another thing to write about. The royal family is planning to produce its own sparkling wine according to Mail online.
  • US News gives us even more reasons to have family meals – a new study finds that eating meals with their families helps keep kids slimmer and healthier.
  • Eat.Drink.Better has a list of 18 Green Wine Geeks to Follow on Twitter. Looks like I’ve got some new people to follow on Twitter.
Enjoy your weekend!
