In 2005, Elixir became one of the first 50 businesses in San Francisco to be acknowledged as a Green Business, a title the city saloon wrangled with such eco-efficiency measures as installing low-flow toilets and using only Green Seal-certified cleaning solutions. Its menu features a collection of organic and biodynamic beers, wine and spirits as well as organic and local produce, some of it straight from the owner’s garden! Elixir also hosts Green Drinks, a monthly business networking happy hour for people involved in the sustainable industry.
