5 drinks to keep winter at bay

Mulled Red Wine

Make leftover red wine disappear in a jiffy with this super easy recipe.

Prep time: 10 minutes

Total time: 20 minutes

Yield: Makes 4-6 drinks

Mulled Red Wine


  • 3 cups dry red wine
  • 1 orange, peeled
  • 1 lemon, peeled
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 2 ounces granulated sugar

Cooking directions

  1. In a large saucepan slowly heat all ingredients. Do not bring to a boil. Stir gently and allow to simmer for about 10 minutes.
  2. Remove wine from heat. Cover and let stand for 10 minutes to allow flavors to fuse. Using a metal sieve strain content into glasses. Serve warm.
