The stories behind North America's oldest distilleries are colorful, interesting — even dramatic in some cases. Some of these liquor producers sold their first bottles during Colonial times, while others began in an era when the bulk of the United States was an untamed, unnamed wilderness. A few brands remain household names today, while others produce small batches prized by aficionados. All of the distilleries have stood the test of time. Bottoms up! (Text: Josh Lew)
