Mount Gay

The first deed for the Mount Gay distillery on the Caribbean Island of Barbados is dated 1703. This makes Mount Gay the oldest existing rum brand in the world. Throughout its history, this rum has been a favorite of sailors, and even today, Mount Gay sponsors sailing events and is a major advertiser for the U.S. Sailing Association.

A majority of rum made at the distillery is imported to the U.S., though Mount Gay can be found in liquor stores and bars in more than 100 countries. Tours of Mount Gay's facilities are offered daily, with an option that includes partaking in a traditional Bajan lunch before seeing the distillery (and tasting its products, of course).
