If you’re making homemade food gifts this year in canning jars as holiday gifts, Ball is offering a free printable holiday design for canning labels. All you need to do is like Ball’s Facebook page, and you’ll be given the festive design in two sizes – one for regular mouth lids and one for wide mouth lids.

You can print them out on regular paper and tape them to the lid of the jar, or if you want to get a little more fancy, they’re designed to fit Avery 5393 or 5294 labels. Reindeer, snowmen, candy canes, snowflakes and more circle the outside of the label. Inside the circle, there are lines to write the contents and date.

If making your own food gifts sounds like a good idea, but you haven’t done it yet, don’t worry. There’s still time to make some easy gifts in jars that don’t need the time or skill it takes to hot water bath the jars. My Hot Buttered Rum Batter comes together in about ten minutes (no cooking required). Yesterday, the Kitchn ran a recipe for Homemade Salted Caramel Sauce that looks amazing and can be kept in the refrigerator for a few weeks. In fact, I may be making that later this week with my boys as their teacher gifts.

Are you making homemade food gifts this holiday season that are quick and easy? Share your ideas with us in the comments (and include links to instructions or recipes if possible, please).
