I was going to say, “they had me at Hugh Jackman,” but then Henry Winkler popped up midway through this video, and well, the Fonz just told me to support Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution Day. I have no choice but to do it.

Seriously, I’d support this day anyway. Oliver will host the 2nd annual Food Revolution Day on Friday, May 17. 2012’s Food Revolution Day saw over 1,000 events in 664 cities across 62 countries. This year, the planning has just begun, and there are already 178 activities worldwide planned. Anyone can plan an activity from a potluck dinner at home to a town wide festival and add it to the Food Revolution Day map as a public or private activity.

What’s the day all about? It’s “a global day of action for people to make a stand for good food and essential cooking skills.” With three simple actions – cook it, share it, live it, Oliver and those participating aim to “raise awareness about the importance of good food and better food education for everyone.”

Those who want to participate can take advantage of the free Food Revolution Day resources and ideas. There are activity guides, downloadable ebooks for home, school, and work, images to put on webpages and more.

Will you be participating in Food Revolution Day this year?
