Early in October, we took a weekend trip with our boys. They wanted us to listen to this song from You Tube that everyone was listening to. We heard it many, many times that weekend. The song was “Gangnam Style.” If you’re unfamiliar with the song, it’s okay, really. It’s a pop song by a South Korean musician who goes by the name of PSY (pronounced like sigh, not P-S-Y. That argument went on for hours in the car that weekend).
The song has moved from YouTube to mainstream radio, and if you have kids, it’s hard to get away from. As are the “Gangnam Style” dance moves that my 10-year-old has demonstrated in our kitchen can be used to dance to any Christmas song.
The Peterson Brothers, three young farmers from Kansas who brought us the clever “I’m Sexy and I Know it Parody,” “I’m Farming and I Grow It,” have done it again. Their new video, “Farmer Style” parodies “Gangnam Style” while teaching why agriculture should be so important to us all.
