Mall food courts

Mall food courts may be notorious for their processed pizzas and synthetic smoothies, but sustainable shoppers are finding more eco-friendly choices these days.

Blynk Organic just opened an organic soup, salad and sandwich kiosk at the South Park Mall in Charlotte, N.C. Fast-growing Elevation Burger offers organic, grass-fed, free-range beef at malls (including the Moorestown Mall in New Jersey) and other locations across the country.

And big-city mallgoers hankering for a taste of chemical-free country can visit Gardens Under Glass in Cleveland’s Galleria at Erieview. This hydroponic greenhouse garden located inside the mall offers organic tomatoes, wheatgrass, herbs and more.
