Green and Black Olive Tapenade

A savory appetizer alerts the taste buds that more good food is yet to come.

Prep time: 5 minutes

Total time: 7 minutes

Yield: Serves 4 to 6

Green and Black Olive Tapenade


  • 1/2 cup pitted green olives, drained
  • 1/2 cup pitted black olives, drained
  • 3 tbs. virgin olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped fine
  • 1 tbs. lemon juice
  • Salt and ground black pepper to taste


  1. Process ingredients in a food processor set to pulse. Scape down sides between bursts. Do not over process, tapenade is supposed to be a bit chunky, rather than smooth.
  2. Place tapenade in ceramic bowl and refrigerate until ready to serve.
