TV's effect on your brain
Does television programming hypnotize us into buying advertiser's products?
A friend of mine posted this video on Facebook today. I was intrigued by the premise, but I'm not quite sure that I buy into the message. Don't get me wrong — I despise TV and have no problems keeping it to a minimum in my house. But I'm not exactly sure that television programming hypnotizes viewers into buying stuff. I know that companies advertise heavily before, during and after most TV shows, but by merely watching TV, will I really be hypnotized into buying their products? Heavily influenced, yes. But hypnotized? I'm not buying it. What do you think?
