Bees and sunflowers

A honey bee collects nectar and pollen from a sunflower on May 12 near the village of Dharad, Amritsar in India. The sunflower is one of the most important crops in India's oil seed production system. The plant contributed to rapid growth in production during the late 1980s and the early 1990s. Indian sunflower seed production ranges between 1-1.5 million tons a year, but annual production can fluctuate wildly, depending on the severity of monsoon season.
