"Big Bang Star", and forever famous for her earlier stint as "Blossom", Mayim Bialik has become the latest celebrity to promote a vegan diet for PETA.

Unlike some other risque PETA ads, the 36-year-old actress is instead shown as a 1950's housewife, proudly throwing out a giant piece of meat. "It's a no-brainer, Go Vegan!" the ad proclaims, adding ominously that the best way to be sure that meat doesn't poison your family is to throw it out.

Bialik's decision to team up with PETA is certainly not surprising. For years now, she's been promoting plant-based diets as a wonderful way to not only improve health, but also help the environment animals. Late last month, she announced that she will be releasing a vegan cookbook in the fall of 2013. "I intend to include all of the Jewish recipes I’ve veganized as well as all of our family’s standard beloved recipes," she said in a blog post

As she says in the video, “As a mom, as a mom of two vegan kids, I think it’s really important to put kind of a young mom face on this aspect of veganism, which is completely compatible with being parent and raising healthy kids.”
