Almost three years after he announced his fight against early stage prostate cancer, Jimmy Chong this week revealed a recent diagnosis of rectal cancer.

In a series of tweets to his more than 200,000 followers, Chong - part of the legendary comedic duo Cheech and Chong - made the announcement via a dreaded 'good news and bad news' opening.

Chong, 77, added that he would be documenting his entire experience fighting rectal cancer via his regular Chong and Chong podcast. "Thank you for your love and support now excuse me while I medicate and meditate," he said.

In an interview with People, Chong said that he will begin chemotherapy and radiation on June 22nd. His personal herbal treatment includes marijuana oil and hemp oil. "I'm using cannabis like crazy now, more so than ever before," he added to US Weekly. "I'm in treatment now. I've been — just the case either way, either I get healed or I don't. But either way, I’m going to make sure I get a little edge off or put up."
