Add more drama to your nature photos with this simple tip

Do you want to add extra mood, drama, emotion, or even simplicity to your nature photography? If you have been focused on lighting your subject from the front, it's time to flip that rule and start embracing backlighting!

By facing into the light, you have the opportunity to create gorgeous silhouettes, capture a rim light around your subject, or create beautiful flare from the sun's rays.

Simply changing the direction from which you angle yourself to the light to photograph your subject, and learning to master how to capture light from new directions, provides far more opportunity for creativity in your photography.

Here are 3 ways to use backlighting for more creative nature photos. If you try it out, please show us your shots! We'd love to see them.
