Hurricane Sandy may have rocked New York City, but as far as Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria are concerned, such tragic events only strengthen the bonds and pride shared by all New Yorkers.

The "30 Rock" actor was recently profiled by "Rock Center with Brian Williams" as one of many celebrities doing their part to help others in the aftermath of the Hurricane.

"As you can see there's no power here in the East Village here anywhere," Baldwin told a reporter. "So in our building, you can assume that people who are elderly can't go up and down the stairs to get meals, water, any prescriptions, walk their dogs - so we've volunteered to come today, to standby, and see if we can be of any help to them."

Baldwin and Hilaria, who he married earlier this past summer, have also been engaged on Twitter, urging followers to help the victims of Sandy in any way possible.

"Going to get water, batteries and food for the elderly in our building," Hilaria tweeted Wednesday. "How are your neighbors? Check on them and see what they need."
