Sure, words can be very powerful
, but sometimes there are complex emotions and situations that can only be expressed through visual means. Just ask Instagrammer Ibrahim Hammada, who uses his hands to illustrate the beauty, sadness and quirks of life in his imaginative #StoriesInMyHands series.
As a doctor living in Koblenz, Germany, Hammada began this thoughtful series as a way to express himself and make art in his spare time. To come up with ideas for shots, he looks around for objects and environments in his everyday life and applies a new significance to them based on his personal musings.
The caption for the photo above reads, "No matter how tough the circumstances are, with your care I can survive."

"The common hand, and the uncommon one."
In addition to nurturing his boundless creativity
, #StoriesInMyHands has allowed him to connect with people around the world who are moved by his touching artwork. He currently has more than 10,000 followers.
"Instagram is really one of the best things that happened in my life," Hammada writes, "it helped me find myself and gave me the opportunity to do what I love, so I am really grateful for this great community."
